I posted on a topic that I discovered was already discussed earlier. So I decided to delete my post and not waste everybody's time reading it. Unfortunately, all I got was "only forum leaders can delete posts". I can delete my own post at AR15.com, why not here?

You can edit your post, bullseye, all the way down to nothing. All that will show up is a message saying the date you edited it.
You could also replace your original post with something like: "Posted by mistake, please disregard." or something like that.
A third option would be to e-mail a staff member and ask them to delete your post.
Hope this helps.

bullseye has a good point -- what harm would it do to be able to delete your own post? not the entire trend, but your own post -- it would be 'cleaner' and save on space better than editting it down to zero bytes and having that "editted" message on the bottom.

Unfortunately, the current software would allow the thread initiator to delete the entire thread, even if there are replies to it. I haven't been to the UBB website lately, but I assume that refining that feature is on the list of future enhancements.

Think twice, Post once.

Words are like bullets; they can't be called back....only explained or apologized for.
