Ruger will be discontinuing the Red Label at the end of this year. No big loss, really...

They had a long time to get it right, but IMO, they are priced like a B gun with the quality of a Huglu

They probably need the floor space, machine time and manpower to crank out the little handguns for the pocket carry market. The profit margin is probably a lot larger.

I've never shot a Red Label, but the 28 ga. models had a good following.

Their 28 is what I had - and had nothing but troubles with it. After three trips back to Ruger, it went bye-bye

again, it is a rumor at this point, but none of their major distributors ave any in the pipeline. Remember the SxS Gold Label, vanished within the blink of an eye. Heck, I would even opt for a Huglu built CZ before any Ruger scattergun...

It wouldn't surprise me if Ruger gave up on the Red Label. Historically the large American gun makers can't seem to get the over/under right. Browning and Beretta rule the middle range. Huglu et al are cheaper. Perazzi and Krieghoff in the upper tier. Even JMB himself went to Belgium when the Superposed was a glimmer in his eye. Conneticut Arms and Kolar are the exceptions but they are much smaller makers.

The red label is the reason I bought a Stoeger for my first O/U. My buddy had one and every time we took his red label out it had nothing but problems and I couldn't afford a Browning or Beretta.

Used for grouse & skeet, never needed any repairs.

Ticked off that I can't new barrel set with tubes for being more universal.

FActory said, we changed too many dimension. THAT'S POOR ENGINEERING, JUST GOUGING THE PUBLIC!

Jacklicker who finally sold out to Bill Clinton and the libs on the assault weapon ban. I shot a round of clays with a Red Label many years ago. Just opening and closing the gun made me feel I was handling a cheap pellet gun...

The wood to metal fit on every Red Label i've seen varied from poor to hideous... I would never spend my $$$ on one and I love Rugers..

EVERY new one I've looked at in the last few years had the rattle trap rib and poor wood/metal fit.

Good riddence----and I'm a huge Ruger fan

I had to send my Red Label back to the factory b/c the safety would slip from "safe" to "fire" as I carried it in the field. To Ruger's credit, their customer service was great. Since then, the rib between the barrels has come loose and I rarely fire it. I would not buy another Red Label.

, they're bring out way too many new guns. They just can't keep up. Please get rid of that stupid LCR.22, I also think the P95 is running out of time.
