I just love that new gun smell,,,

Got the call from the Evil Pawn Shop Guy at 11:50 this morning,,,
By 12:45 the form was filled out, credit card was swiped,,,
And I walked out with this brand new .22 shooter,,,
Beretta Model 87 in .22 LR.

I haven't named her yet although I am considering Perlita (little pearl),,,
Taking her out on Saturday to run a hundred rounds of mini-mags,,,
Of course that's assuming I can reassemble her after cleaning.

I'm all antsy,,,
Can't wait to try her out.

Very cool. I'm torn between the regular 87 or one of the Cheetah .22 Target Models...

Hello Venom1956,,,

I hear what you are saying,,,
But the target model just had no eye appeal to me.

I will bet a shiny new nickel that it's a sweet shooter though,,,
Not but a $20.00 bill difference in price either.

Definitely one of the things I like about Beretta pistols is their distinctive look,,,
It makes you want to own one even if it's just as a fashion accessory.

You are gonna laugh,,,
But I used to be a wedding photographer,,,
I was shooting the wedding of an LAPD officer,,,
He bought all of his groomsmen a Bobcat for a groomsman gift,,,
They all wore them through the ceremony in true James Bond tuxedo style.

A range acquaintance of mine got me hooked on the Model 87,,,
I was out popping away with my CZ-75B Kadet,,,
He wanted to try my gun so we swapped,,,
After about 3 mags worth of mini-mags,,,
That Cheetah went to the top of my list.

I'm fairly certain he put the CZ Kadet on his "must own" list as well.

I'll clean her up real nice and let you all know how she shoots on Saturday.

Aarond

Those are beautiful guns, like most Berettas.

I'd love to try one some day, but there's precious little chance of that. I never see those in person.

Congratulations!

He did mention something about that when I picked it up today,,,
Something on the order of, "You can't be complaining about me being Mr. Evil on this one.
You came in and asked me to order it in all on your own idea."

I replied, "Yeah, but it was that danged Model 85 over in your counter that pushed me over the edge."
"By the way, do you do layaway on used guns?"

The waitress and I will go shooting when her father delivers her Ruger to her,,,
This Saturday I am taking another friend of mine out to shoot her revolver.

She is the one whose father-in-law gave her husband that nickel plated IRS-CID commemorative S&W Model 15,,,
I'm sure she will also want to try the new Beretta but she is very excited about the S&W,,,
BTW she is an absolutely drop-dead beautiful west Texas girl,,,
Long blonde hair, blue eyes, and legs that won't quit,,,
And a big ugly husband who is my friend.

I eagerly await Saturday for many reasons.

For some girls,,,
Guns really are chick magnets.

Nice gun,,, but really nice wood.
What did you $$$$$ for it?
I got rid of my Walther P22 and am looking for something like it and the Beretta like yours has always been a favorite.

"Perlita" is Spanish, que no?

Since the Beretta is Italian, how about "Perla?" Which, by the way, appears to be the same in Spanish and Italian.

P.S.

I know what you mean about the distinctive look. I'd like to have a Beretta someday.

I shot an 84 for the first time the other day and really liked it.

Beautiful gun. My only problem was preventing slide lockback by riding the slide release with my right thumb. Maybe that slide release is a little too accessible?

Good morning everyone,,,

Hello Duke City Six:

I got Perlita off of an Internet site listing Italian female baby names,,,
It did say that it was the same in Spanish and Italian.

I'm not warming to that name though,,,
I'll keep pondering on it.

Hello Constantine:

It's a long running joke here in the forum,,,
I call my favorite gun store owner the Evil Pawn Shop Guy,,,
Because he's like a drug pusher who will get you hooked and reel you in.

The waitress is a different thread about a young lady at my favorite watering hole,,,
Her father is giving her a Ruger SP-101 and I'm going to take her shooting,,,
There's discussion on her father's choice of ammo for her.

Hello Ozzieman:

I paid $725.00 out the door,,,
I never had any money until a few years ago,,,
Now (in my old age) I'm indulging myself with toys I wanted years ago,,,
I wouldn't normally spend that much on a .22 but I just sold another gun so it seemed the right time.

Thanks for the congrats Kylen,,,
I'm happier than a pig in the corn field.

Aarond

Oh!!! Man I know know the feeling! It does get you addicted. I have a lot going on right now myself. (gun wise) Evil pawn shop guy lol Nice...

You met a nice young lady and are taking her shooting? What a noble man...I can't do that...My girlfriend would kill me. Anyways, I'm going to search that

I'm also scared to know her fathers choice of ammo...Blanks? Snap caps? lol ok I'll search now.
