I just picked one of these up today for a 1911. It cost me $17. What do you guys think of these? Are they good or should I have just paid my dog for a ████ instead?

GreenDragon, I tested a model for the 1911 2 weeks ago. It did not work to my satisfaction (I'm pretty picky, all I want it to do is work!!!!!). The paddle design was great, but the retension on the gun was non-adjustable and was to tight. Also, the end of my standard size 1911 Kimber stuck out about 3/8" exposing muzzle and front sight (not good), even though this was suppose to be a fit-all 1911's!!
A freind, who let me test this holster, reports that the model he purchased for his Glock works great. Also, this friend gave me a Fobus paddle magazine pouch for a Glock magazine and it works for me flawlessly. Stays on my belt where I want it, offers adequate retension and draws smoothly...I like it (simply because it works!!!), and it's inexpensive. Best Regards.... Like many on the list, I have a drawer full of holsters. When I got a Glock, I bought a Fobus as a cheap alternative until I decide whether I will use this gun for carry. Mine works well for what I need it to do. I'll be ready for a "real holster" soon...

I use the Fobus holsters as a go to work holster. My current job doesn't allow me to carry a gun at work so the gun is in the car in a paddle holster. For that it is perfect. If I am CCWing I carry in something else.

Here's a tip for those who find Fobus holsters too tight. Immerse it in HOT water for about 90 seconds. It will get pliable enough for you to easily insert your gun. When it cools, it's "custom molded". I've done it with two Fobus holsters.. Worked both times. Sport |
