What rifle do you dream about shooting/owning - Page 2

For those who mention the B A R (1918) or the modern clone semi-auto's...

I was selected to qualify on the BAR in Basic training at Ft Ord in 1960. I managed to do that after a 'BOLO' session or two. I was a 17 yr old smart-ass who thought he knew everything at that time. I think I was 'selected' to qualify so that I would have to hump that heavy SOB around with another heavy bag of Mags for it too. At the time I really didn't appreciate that rifle, but I sure do now.

I would almost pay the $4000 for one of the new clone semi-auto's from Ohio Ordnance just to get a second chance to send A LOT of 30-06 down range.

To sum it up, machine guns. Specifically, WWII-era machine guns.

MP40 (sub-machine gun, still counts!)

Let's throw owning an M60 in there and that completes the dream, for now.

I just came to the realization that it's not just a "long list" that I decided to cut short, it's just every one ever made. I don't think there is one I wouldn't want to shoot.

So to keep the "BS Mountain" theme going lol, I'm going to take one of everything made, perhaps two, just in case I need parts.

If we're dreaming then I'd make it 50 BMG even though it's not civilian legal where I live and I'd probably loose my shoulder socket after the first shot!!!!

2. M21 (Vietnam era sniper version of the M14).
3. A Montana or Blaser or other "boutique" level .375 H&H Safari gun.
4. HK 91 .308
5. HK 770 .308

I had to edit myself quite a bit to have such a short list.

Don't remember who made it, but Cabella's has 2 used side by side 45-70s for sale. They are $3000 each. I want one.
A pistol gripped .357 mag/20 gauge Savage is another I'd like.
Maybe one day a Thompson.

Yes, as in a double barrel rifle in 45-70. This gun just felt so good in my hands, felt like the perfect gun to me.

Not so much a specific rifle make, but at some point, I'd really like to own a rifle chambered in .416 Rigby. I have no need for one but that is currently the last must have rifle on my list.

As I get older I find hitting a mini ram at 200 yards with the 22 oddly more satisfying.
