A touch under 14lbs.

I don't get these types of guns.

Some obviously do, hence their existance.

How do you get an underhammer 45/70? 45/70 is centerfire and yet it's underhammer too? What am I missing here?

Don't ask me why

I once saw a 45/70 rifle that took a cartridge but the primer was external to the cartridge. The primer pocket had a flash-hold in it which the primer flash pass through and ignited the main charge inside the cartridge. You preloaded a 45/70 case. Technically it was not an M/L. May have had a place at Friendship but hardly at a Rendezvous. ......

Its made for bench shooting. Round would make it roll. You put this bad girl on a sand bag and its rock solid. One piece stock.
