M&P Shield 45 vs Springfield XDE 45

I have been looking at both for my next CCW. Have read previous post about most people really liking the M&P 45 Shield. But, little available about the XDE 45. Have looked at both several times. The M&P fits my hand well but, the XDE fits a little better, more comfortable to hold. LGS does not have a XDE for rent at the range.
Anyone shot both? How do they compare? The XDE costs a little more, is it worth it? Thanks, all opinions welcome.

The Shield is the easy choice here. It's a proven design with excellent aftermarket support.

Also, you wouldn't be sending money to Springfield Armory, and that counts for something.

I bought the XDe because of the double action option and the external safety. I thought they both shoot fine.
