45 Colt (LC) Brass

Where do you get your 45LC brass? just picked up a Blackhawk 45LC/45ACP and was thinking about just reloading for it instead of buying any factory.

Starline is the best. However, if you're needing it now, it might be hard to come by immediately. You just have to check around your local places as well as Midway or directly at Starline as mentioned above. If you can't find Starline and you need the brass now, you can use Winchester or MagTech brass. They are both pretty good. I would avoid Remington brass if possible for that cartridge.

+1 for Starline. These guys know how to make a case that lasts! I have shot literally thousands of MAX 45 LC rounds and have yet to find a crack in one of them. The cases I have have been reloaded several times and still have not failed. I found a few hundred at a gunshow and really did not have the cash to spend on them but I did anyway due to their rarity. Found some .357 ones there too, had to grab a (100) of those as well. IMO there is no better cases produced, period.

TIP: Use just a twirl of lube from a case lube pad right at the mouth of the case before sizing in a carbide die, makes the cases last way, way longer and the effort to resize them is less than a 45 ACP in a carbide die with no lube.

Another Starline fan. My 45 Colt Blackhawk has never had factory ammo fired in it. Every round has been handloads in the batch of 500 cases from Starline I bought when I bought the gun. They are going on their eighth reload now and they are still going strong. I use Starline in 45 ACP and 357 Magnum too.

And yet another vote for Starline. I use them for all my pistol cartridges whenever possible. They're the best!

Starline delivered 1000 pieces of 45 colt brass to me just this week. In about 20 minutes I will start loading it up. It is "in stock" right now.
