.308 overall length
My speer manual says 2.800 for all length, but points that its just a guideline, and not set in stone not in those exact words, but same meaning.
So my first five reloads of .308 measure overall from 2.704 to 2.785 after a few adjustments then the rest were right at 2.795 to 2.800. Should I be concerned for the first five???? Whats the shortest overall length you can go? Couldn't find anything in the manual or online. |

The maximum length listed in your manual is the SAAMI maximum overall length. Maximum length for your rifle may be slightly longer to meet your rifle's needs for best accuracy, if your magazine allows you to load longer ammo.
You can either disassemble the first rounds or just fire them, they will likely shoot to a different point of impact. Personally, I would disassemble and reload them, but it's your call.
