Reloading the .454 Casull

I've been reloading for my .454 Casull for several years now using a near max charge of 296 and Hornady 300gr XTP Mags. I was thinking about trying 2400, does anyone have any experience using it in the .454? Is it as dirty as they say? I'm thinking 296 is still the best choice. Which will give me the biggest muzzle flash 296 or 2400? Thanks.

2400 is dirty and inconsistant 296 is about as good as you can get. You might look at AA9 but I have no experiance with this powder in the casull I do like H110 it pretty darn good so if you want to try something new start with 110.
I believe I'll try some 9 later this winter

2400 is a little on the fast side for the .454. I've had my best results with H110, in bullets as light as 260 grains, and as heavy as 475 grains.
