I use their pistol cleaning kit and rather like it. I'm not sure that I buy into their "it's better to clean in the direction the bullets go" thing, but it is a very well made kit, and the cables are much easier to pack than rods.
Also, they do work perfectly well with any patch, so you don't really need to buy the otis ones. I'll probably wind up buying the rifle kit at some point, but I really only shoot my rifle for hunting at this point and thus only need to clean it a couple times a year. So, the pack-ability/longevity of the cables over rods isn't all that big of a deal.

Otis
I loved the idea of a breech cleaning system and I am impressed with the quality of all of the components made by Otis (I own the Elite Kit). However, it takes me a lot longer to clean a gun with their system.
The amount of stuff in the kit is overwhelming. It takes two different cables to clean my .223 rifle. I guess I enjoy cleaning my guns a lot too... It's just not just a quick swab-brush-swab+ situation! |

OTIS
There is one in my range bag at all times. I shoot military surplus ammo and rifles a lot and when using corrosive primed ammunition the OTIS comes out at the range for a quick couple of passes to get the salt out while the barrel is still hot. Water for the corrosive and oiled for the trip home and a thorough cleaning at home. But then I use a rod.

I've used nothing but Otis cleaning kits since back in the 80's...
I still have the first one I bought, but have lost a few pieces...my wife bought me a new one a couple of years ago. Otis kits are good stuff... |

2 cables
Probably takes me 2 cables because I have not figured out how to "adapt" the brush onto the skinny cable. Every time I open the kit I stumble through the process with all of the little brass rods and adapters. What am I missing? Do you have the "elite" set?

I just bought the small kit for 17 to 30 caliber. It only has one cable, one brush, patches and a tube of cleaner.

Yep I like their gear. Well priced and easy to get spare pieces when you need them. Worth getting some, better than the issued rubbish.

I have had a chance to use my Otis kit a few times and I like it very much. I like the patches because they rub the entire bore unlike the regular patches that you just put through the slot.
