Suppressing a Saiga

Originally I planned to purchase a SA58 for suppressor use, but that is unfortunately out of my price range.

I'm thinking of setting up a .308 Winchester 22" Saiga rifle (converted) with a Silencer. Yes I know that bolt actions are better suppressed than semi-autos. Yes I know that a can will cost 3x the worth of Saiga. Yes its an expensive addition to a $300 Russian rifle.

My main question is what are the performance issues that I would be dealing with for this setup. I've read that a Fals adjustable gas settings are very useful when using a silencer. What are the pros and cons performance wise for suppressing a Saiga.

Since the Can will add extra length to the rifle, I've thought of having it shortened to 19".

Not an NFA topic, but i'm also considering having the barrel cryo treated to preserve its accuracy as the barrel heats up.

Thoughts and information ?

I hate to be the one to state the obvious, but with all that extra money you would spend on shortening/threading and cryo-treating, why don't you go with a nicer rifle? The two steps above will be over $100 each and for $500 you could have a much nicer rifle. Just my .02
