I want to mount a halo sight on my Kimber. I have heard of mounts that go under the grips and also include a mag well. Anyone know where I can get such an animal? Or any pros cons to the idea?

Aimtech and a few others make a "grip replacement" mount, but I've never heard of or seen a mount that goes under the grip... and includes a magwell.
It'd probably have to be made of steel, cause it'd have to be really thin to fit and not increase the grip width excessively.

If someone finds this item, I'd love to see it.

Cheers,
C

I have seen some that are a thin plate that goes under the grip. I mentioned to a guy at the range and he said they are also available with a mag well. So I cant say for sure they are. As you said they are presumably steel or possible aluminum.

I have one for sale that is a grip replacement with a scope rail on top. Interested?

Like I said, when you find it, I'd like to see it. In the mean time Scorch probably has a pretty good deal for you.

Scorch- Thanks for the offer. I am just not a fan of that design. I do like the Weigand design http://www.jackweigand.com/sm3.html. I just dont want to drill the frame yet.
