Difficulty attaching image to reply

Anyone out there know why when I attempt to attach an image to a reply that I end up with a linked text? (See example below.)
02-15-08_1654.jpg
I have followed the steps as outlined in the FAQs, and this is the result. Any thoughts?

I am using an Apple.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The format should look something like this:

[ IMG]http://my_host.com/my_picture.jpg[/IMG]

(without the space in "[ IMG]")

e.g.

[ IMG]http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=34230&d=1216112274[/IMG]

gets you

I use photobucket. Just click on the image tag at the bottom of your pic and copy it, then paste it in your message window with your text.

AZAK, you are displaying attachments using the "attach" tags like this:
[ATTACH]34230[/ATTACH]

Wherever the attachments were originally posted, they probably had the file names you are seeing. BTW, where was this originally posted? I can't find it anywhere.

To see the image in the post you have to use the IMG tags exactly as kkb demonstrated above.

I attached a different image in the semi section, "What's a good alternative to non-skid tape?"

I used this snowmobile camera phone pic just because it was handy, and attempting to reuse my first image resulted in, something like, "you have already used this image 'here'".

I will attempt to fix the first image, and see what happens. And will let everyone know how it goes!

Still need help!

I am uploading the image from my computer, not from a server location. Then when I want to attach the image it has a drop down and choosing the image from the drop down results in this:

02-15-08_1625.jpg

I am just not seeing anything like the examples listed above. It could be(?) that the above examples are from a URL?

Help! Thanks!

You were very close on that last attempt, but you forgot to add the '/' to the ending tag so all you see is the URL. It should be: [/IMG]

I'm not sure what you are attempting in post #6. You can't just spell out a filename and expect the system to know it is an image.

In post #8 you again used the ATTACH tags. They are working as designed, but we are assuming you want to see the actual image in your post.
