anybody starting the summer shooting season out with a new gun...

back a few months ago I picked up a new Browning Citori Special Sporting Clays in 20 gauge with 32" barrels. This is one of the guns that Guns Unlimited had Browning produce for them. The original mid 90's gun only came in 12 gauge, now they are available in all gauges. The 20 is about a pound lighter and a real joy to shoot.

How about the rest of you guys, anything new!?!

Nope, no new shotguns.... ( all of my Browning Citori XS Skeet and XT Trap models are still performing very well ! ).

( I have added some new revolvers...a single action Freedom Arms, and a couple of S&W model 27's ...) ...

Jim, I'm actually contemplating the purchase of a new 12 gauge Beretta SV10 Prevail with 32" barrels. It's Beretta's equivalent to the new Browning 725 sporter. Except, it feels like and handles like a DT10. You can even convert the ejectors to extractors with the turn of a screw. Balances better too, and no ported barrels...

I'm not a Beretta fan ( mostly because they don't fit me ) ....but on all the Citori's I have ...you can change them from ejectors to extractors as well...by rotating the cam ...no big deal.

I just bought my 1st shotgun. A Mossberg 535. My son just bought a Mossberg 500. We took them out and shot some clays this weekend. Lots of fun.

Summer? We started back in January, been nice up here in Iowa. I have a new to me 1984 Remington 870 Wingmaster Magnum. Haven't shot a shotgun in 10+ years, been 20+ since I shot clays. A friend from work, another guy and myself shoot clays every week. It is a blast. Moving targets are real fun compared to stationary ones.

here's the new one I'm shooting this young season. A special run of Special Sporting Clays in all four gauges and any barrel length, from Guns Unlimited, Omaha, NE. Mine is a 20 bore, high-post rib with 32" tubes. I've had it out three times so far and I've destroyed as much orange clay as I would have with any of my 12's...

Nice, Slugo. A well made and stocked, 32" barreled 20 ought to work just as well as a 12 of similar quality and build.

Dave, the 20 is one pound lighter and the action is a tad smaller. Just right...

Haven't had this one long.. Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon 12 Gauge 28".. Makes the rest of my field guns jealous, even the Browning.... Can't complain about the trap or skeet scores either...

Exactly, Slugo. Less fatigue, same payload. I use 7/8 oz in the 12s almost all the time.

Bruce Scott, in one of his videos, uses a 32" barreled 20 gauge CG. Looked good, smote like a minor diety.

Nice, GVW. Add some wear marks and you'll be good to go.

I've shot a few rounds through a few 535s. I like them...
