how far to seat LSWC/HP no crimp groove

Should this be seated flush, then crimp over the lip, or leave a bit out of the case to crimp to? Hornandy 38 special 158 Grain LSWC/HP

For that particular brand of cold-swaged lead bullet, seat the bullet in the .38 SPECIAL case, deep enough to have a finished over-all-length (oal) of 1.475", then crimp the case mouth in the normal manner.

Unique is an excellent powder for shooting cold swaged / hard cast lead bullets. It burns very well in barrels 4" to 6" in length. For powder charges, consult the hornady manual for the the velocity you desire to safely obtain.

That is in fact Hornady's Bullet set to the Hornady Manual's as-tested OAL for 357Mag.

Out of curiosity, where does that leave the shoulder of that bullet relative to the case mouth?)

Look up (in reloading manuals) the OAL for that bullet, Then crimp into the side of the soft bullet. Don't worry about deforming the bullet. You need a good heavy crimp to insure efficient powder burning and accuracy.

I've tried them all, light crimp, taper crimp, no crimp. If you want consistency you need a heavy crimp. If you want erratic ignition and key holing, use a light or no crimp.

Looks like a Hornady swaged bullet. Look in your Hornady manual. It'll tell you the COL. Your loading manual is your best friend...
