Sight, Scattergun Tech.

I was talking to a Tech. at Wilson's/Scattergun about the method they use to afix the front sight on their Combat Shotguns. They said they glue it on first and then drill it and pin it somehow. Anybody familiar with this method, and how does it compare to being Silver Soldered (my preference)?

If they use an adhesive, it is probably a binary epoxy ("two part epoxy"). Those are quite strong and can be formulated to resist solvents.

Actually if they pin the sight on, the pin is probably only meant to hold the sight in place as the epoxy cures. Once it's cured it would be many times stronger than a small steel pin.
