Rem. 11-87 Premier 20 guage, opinions?

Hi gang,

Ok based on the recommendations on this group I went to the gun shop and tried on a few for fit. I really liked the heft and feel of the 11-87 they had in 20 guage 28" barrel. Well balanced and came up extremely fast. Just wondering what you all thought about this gun and if it will suite me for some informal clay busting on the farm and wing hunting.

Probably,WR, though the 1100 is one tough act to follow.

When they first came out, the 1187 had a few glitches. Haven't heard any complaints recently...

I owned an 11-87 Sporting Clay Model for several years until I heard the siren song of a Beretta over/under. The 11-87 is different from the 1100 because it has a gas compensating system that allows for heavier shells to be used. The 11-87 target guns like mine didn't have this compensating system so Remington simply went back to using the 1100 designation for its target guns. My 11-87 SC specifically limited the shells to no more than 1-1/4 ounce, 3-1/4 dram loads.

I like the Remington autos a lot and for your purposes it is just fine. When you make your final decision, let us know how it works out.
