How to Polish a Feedramp Quick and Easy

Hey Guys so i just uploaded a new video on How to Polish a Feedramp Quick and Easy. I like doing this small modification to my firearms as a preventative measure for failures to feed that can be caused by a rough Feedramp in which the round gets stuck riding up the ramp into the chamber, and also to make easier cleanup for powder residue as it does not stick as easily to the polished surface. Everything looks good, but why did you polish it? I wonder if the engineers at Glock finish it the way they do to hold lubricant or something like that.....Not sure, but if no problem, I have a hard time doing work.

Remember that factories need to make a profit, or keep cost down. So certain things will not be done at the factory in order to produce more with less time. Compared to someone who hand builds firearms, or custom builders who take the time to make sure that everything is perfectly smooth and fitted perfectly. Remember Mays production is all about the $$$. This is just a small easy upgrade.

It doesn't "need" to be done, but it won't hurt unless you do something stupid and remove too much metal. Putting a mirror bright polish on the feed ramp may help with feeding rounds. I'm less enthused about chamber polishing.

Do NOT USE A DREMEL or ANY tool on a feed ramp. They are designed with, I THINK, a 28-31 degree angle and tools can throw it off and you will end up with feeding problems.

ONLY...ONLY use Mothers Mag wheel Polish, Flitz or Semichrome with a 1/2 pea size drop, a clean cotton cloth, and your finger.

I have done 10-12 this way and they come out looking like a mirror. I know two guys who wanted to 'get fancy' and use tools. Both ended up with feeding problems.

Each to his own.
