Well...

Any K frame S&W revolver and any Colt or Ruger single action.

Then any 1911 (though a arched msh works best for me.) The Browning Hi-Power.

I have 3 that just feel perfect to me.

1911
Ruger Mark's
S&W J-frame with boot grips

I'll give an honorable mention to my SIG P938, but it's really just a mini 1911.

Ruger Service Six w/Hogue Monogrip
Steyr M/L9 which I don't have yet but might be my next purchase.

Great minds think alike , it's also interesting how many times you see 1911 in this thread....John Moses hit a home run with this design .

Hands down, the venerable Browning Hi-Power, is the best in my hands, but the location and extension of the thumb safety is harder to use than any 1911.

A close, but definite 2nd is either version of the 1911. With an arched mainspring housing, I tend to shoot it a bit better at speed, but either feels correct in the hand.

And...while I love the 'feel' of any Luger or Ruger Standard model .22, for that matter, both shoot low for me, and are tougher to maintain a consistent grip. It seems that either leaves my wrist in an neutral position, ie. not flexed up or down, and that doesn't work as well, if that makes any sense?

YMMV, Rod

Both in terms of how it feels in the hand, as well as how it functions, for me it's my S&W 1911SC-E roundbutt. It's your basic perfect.

And now in no particular order: S&W M&P9 2.0 (the med.large backstrap feels custom made for my hand)

S&W Model 19

SIG P229 (once I installed the SRT kit)

I love shooting revolvers and my favorite is my new 929 from S&W. With the 6 inch barrel it is perfectly balanced for my hands. This is the gun I shoot Steel Challenge with as well as now shooting .22s out of my modified Ruger Mark IV 22/45.

My hand, and yours, will conform to whatever shape gun grip I put in it. There are obvious limitations on size, some are simply too big, or too small to shoot well. But other than that I have no preference.

I have my favorites and if I'm spending my money that is what I'll buy, but how the grip feels isn't a factor. If someone else were furnishing a gun for me to use I'd adapt to the gun and master it.

I have surprised myself as I have gotten older.

At one time I put “feel” at perhaps the very top in terms of handgun selection criteria.

But now I find that has changed. I once loved single stacks compared to the double stack “glock like” pistols.

Not anymore. I am finding, for example, I shoot a G26 much better than my Shield9.

My 1911s and wheelies with hogue type grips might be the exception.

I think this may in part be due to aging fingers and also the ability to rack certain slides easier.

So there are certain guns that I now shoot better that don’t “feel” as comfortable as their smaller siblings.

I really enjoy the feel of a thin 1911 with a straight MSH, especially shooting 9mm.

I searched long and had trying to find a revolver that fit me that well, and finally found an SP101 with a 4" barrel. Definitely on of my favorites all the way from .38 wadcutters up to full house 357 (although not too many of those at a time).

I'll play. My 1911's with beavertails and straight mainspring housings. My Browning HP with beavertail and Navidrex grips and my new Sig P250's with medium grip modules. All feel great.

I like the open top Colts, especially the 1860 Army model.

My FNX 40 was love at first handle. All of the controls are exactly where I want them to be.

My heritage rough rider gets an honorable mention, I love that little thing.

For me it's

Sig P226
1911
Beretta 948 (i'm not sure why this one feels so good to hold but it does)

On the other side I've always really wanted a Beretta 92 but every time I pick one up I end up putting it back down because it just doesn't feel right.

Best feeling semi are the S&W M39-2's, either with Pachmyar professional grips or the stock wood panels.

my 1911'a are equipped with the FLAT mainspring housing, so I know that the grip safety is operating.
BHP is almost like the M39's.

Revolvers are using the Pachmyar GRIPPER's. as they are longer in fore /aft direaction and thinner is the width.

It's all personal taste , as to whay you like and gives a comfortable grip for handling recoil.

I really like a SW Model 10 with a four-inch "pencil" barrel (tweaking the SW revolver junkies a bit) with the traditional stock that does not cover the backstrap. It fits my hand well and balances really well.

I also love my 1911s but different manufacturers have slightly different dimensions. Grips and trigger also affect the way they feel. My favoiret is my Nighthawk Falcon with custom medium trigger, thin grips and a couple of other options that don't affect feel. It's the one on top.
