Mag loading tool damages follower?
Been using the mag loading tool on a Ruger SR40...
never used one before and i place the tool on the magazine then load up 15 rounds. Was looking at the follower, it has a scratch/dent in it now from where the mag tool was pressing on it. I then thought about it, and loaded the first round, then used the mag tool after that. Feel like I should replace the followers although the gun functions fine. What do you think and what should I do in the future? |

WOW, that's a new one !!!
What is the material of the follower? Sounds like plastic and obviously softer than you thumb-saver. ...
I'd say that if you are going to have any doubts about how it will perform, in the future, replace it or just use it at the range. ... Be Safe !!!

I'm not sure about yours Ruger's, but all of my Glock mags have a dent in the follower - it appears to be normal wear from the last round being scooped out by the slide.
I dont use a loader. |

Ah, interesting...could be that, just the round being taken off the mag follower?

I know my Walther PPS mags all show a dent / smooth spot on the followers from the slide going across them and I don't use a loader for my single stacks (yet).
I'm curious what loader you're using?
