North Texas DFW OK/TX border plinking

After much research I have learned there is no BLM land in Texas.
Is there any BLM land close to Texas Oklahoma border that is in OK? I want to go out and shoot at my own free will. No desire to go to range.
If so am I allowed to carry guns over state lines for this purpose?
Anyone have private land they would allow me to use for free?

Yes I will clean up after myself. Thanks

Check out www.texasguntalk.com. There's lots of people in your area on there and I'm sure someone would be able to help you find a place to shoot.

Vince, if you are on the East side then I recommend the Garland Public Range.

Garland public range is in no form "own free will". I even had to "qualify" with pistols I wanted to shoot at 100yds while the RO stood there. Even after doing so (10 rnds into 3.5" @ 100) the owner said no rimfire pistols at 100 only centerfire.

http://www.apgtraining.com/ Is almost to greenville on 380 but they allow drawing from holsters and rapid fire is not a problem they even allow full auto. They have several TAC bays and 300 yd rifle range, most of the time you'll have the place all to yourself.

Odd, I never "qualified" nor have I witnessed anyone else. I have shot my 22lr on the 50/100yard dual station every single time I have gone. I'm not sure what "own free will" means, but every range I have been to has some kind of rule.

The no .22 rimfire rule @ 50 & 100 is only for pistols. "own free will" is what the OP was looking for in post #1.

There is BLM land in TX, right on Hwy 79 out of Byers, but I am thinking youre not from over in this part of TX though, maybe further east near the Metroplex?
