Glock 17 holsters

Hello everyone, I apologize if this is a hyper-lame newbie question, but I must profess a total lack of knowledge concerning holsters.

I am looking to purchase a good holster for my Glock 17, either a paddle holster or a shoulder holster. I don't have a clue what makes a holster good, where to buy it from, or where to start. Help would be greatly appreciated!

Check out Don Hume - good quality and affordable. Glaco has a good selection. Fobus makes a nice kydex paddle holster for around $25.

Glock 17 Holsters

You want to look for a maker that uses top-quality leather (Hermann Oak-Tanned is the one to look for) if you are looking for a leather holster. El Paso Saddlery makes excellent quality holsters, takes around 4-8 weeks to receive your order. Check them out at www.epsaddlery.com.

If you are looking at synthetics, I recommend Blade Tech. I have a few of them, and I am very satisfied. I don't think they have a paddle available for you, but the IWB and belt models are very well made and durable.

Plan on buying a few holsters before you find a favorite. I have a drawer full of nice leather & synthetic holsters, many that see very little use...
