HK's recoil damper polymer thingy
Does it work?
As the owner of a P30, P30L (both in 9mm) and HK45--and former owner of a USPc45 and 9... I have to say there's no real benefit when compared to the recoil in my polymer and metal Sigs. ...or is it there to prolong the life of the firearm? |

My understanding was it was there to prolong the life of the frame.
TBH, I kind of think it is BS as the only proof that it does what it claims is from statements from HK themselves. (And I am even an HK fanboy).

HK uses a buffer or 'recoil reduction system', to reduce impact on the frame. HK uses fiberglass filled nylon because it's more rigid. Naturally, it can't tolerate flex quite as well as some of the others polymers, hence the buffer.
