AWB Likely to Fail- Huff Post

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mobile...=Daily%20Brief

If they're right this ought to be good news for all of us here, looks like the magazine restriction might still have some steam behind it but there's a good chance it will fail as well. Good to see some good news amidst all the gloom and doom here lately.

My personal thoughts is that we have a little breathing room. But, not much. If the Dems take more seats in the house, we are done. I do think something will eventually trickle out where drum magazines and other large magazines will be banned from further production. Beyond that, I have no idea.

My advice is that if you want something that is potentially on the "banned list", don't let a few hundred dollars stand in your way. On the other hand, avoid being a hoarder. Speculation could get you stuck with 100 drums that become illegal to sell or a bunch of Wolf ammo that comes way down in price a year from now. Ammo will be available - some accumulation would be wise, depending on how much you shoot, but get what you need and then cut yourself off when you reach your goal.

This is proof the whole AWB talk is all emotionalism. If the antis were at all serious about reducing gun crime, they would be going after the handguns. Obummer admitted it in one the Presidential debates by saying the problem in Chicago isn't AK47s, it's handguns. But showing all these evil, black, machine gun looking rifles plays well on the tube. It's all about going after the low hanging fruit.

Disclaimer. I in no way advocate the banning of any firearms.

No, it's all about following the British model. Shootings with AR-15's; ban them. Later shootings with handguns; ban them. Then ban knives because there've been some stabbings. Then, finally, the way is clear for pograms.

Professor; I know what you mean by the British model. On that subject, I recently watched a few episodes of a Brit SAS drama called "Ultimate Force." One of them was about a terrorist group who smuggled a Barrett .50 into the country; the gun was the mission. They could not believe such a weapon system could be in the country!

This is part of the anti-gunners dream in America, but it cannot happen under current circumstances. Enter Piers Morgan, an intellgent, aggressive, calculating, well spoken guy who grew up in such a system, believes in it, and has an international audience....their dreamboat.
