engine paint curing time?

i used dupli-color engine enamel with ceramic on a nef r92, how long till i can start using the gun? i put the paint on sunday morning, the can says 7 days but thought i would ask here hoping someone has used this and knows. thanks

I have used a heat gun to speed up the curing process on completion of the application, but don't over do it.

With most paints it's best to give it the full cure time listed by the manufacturer. Although the makers tend to "pad" their estimates, it's not by much.

One of my "not too scientific" methods is to see if you can smell any solvent from the painted part. If you can, it is not done curing. Sometimes you can smell solvent for several weeks.

Doesn't look bad at all. The trouble is, engine paints use the heat of the engine to assist in the cure.
