Mauser M-48 Bubba-izing
Have a Mauser M-48 that I intend to Bubba-ize into a pseudo-scout rifle (a la Jeff Cooper, pseudo only because I intend to leave it 8mm Mauser.) (Calm down, crufflers, I also have one that I intend to keep mint.)
Am wondering: 1. Are those replacement rear sights any good? The ghost-rings with a front ghost-ring also? 2. Is there a good rear-sight-mounted 'scope mount worth the price? I do want accurate. 3. What 'scope to place in the above rear-sight-mounted 'scope mount? Obviously a handgun 'scope?? Which one? 4. What aftermarket trigger to use? Have experience only w/Timney in rifles and Volquartsen in my Ruger target pistol. Is there something better/more effective? 5. Is there a better "light rifle" stock than Boyd's offers? BTW, all of these modifications are reversible, and I intend to save the military parts, so the rifle could be un-Bubba-ized at any time. Guilty conscience I guess. Thanks in advance for the help and opinions.
