There's a color box at the top of the reply section for changing within in the text. I don't remember how to make it permanent in a sig line.

Try this:

[color=red]Signature text here.[/color]

[color=yellow]Signature text here.[/color]

[color=blue]Signature text here.[/color]

The [color] tags won't show up in the actual signature line when it's displayed, but that's how it will look while you're editing the signature. Also, I've made the colors match what the tags say, but you won't see the colors while you're doing the actual signature editing.

John....could you be more specific...where do I click to perform this....I cannot find color options in the edit signature area....(computer illiterate !) When I try to color in edit signature in signature permissions area is says NOT ALLOWED to BB color options. Any ideas? Do I need a certain amount of posts before I'm approved for color?

Jim,

Just type in the [color=][/color] tags with the text in between just as shown in my examples and it should work.

No clicking on anything is required.

John ...I tried again and again under signature permissions I'm allowed some privileges but it says NO to allowing me to use color option BB code....I'm assuming I do this in the edit signature option in my profile.....further investigation says the BB codes to allow color or not and other BB options are set by the administrator.....something to do with the hmtl code that I don't quite follow....Jim

Jim,

Sorry for the bum steer.

It appears that color signatures are currently not allowed for general users.

Jim,

After some staff discussion, we can't come up with a reason why colored text should be disabled in signature lines. As a result, the capability has been enabled and the colors should work now. Just type the tags as shown in the third post on this thread and you should get the colors you desire.
