What form do I need to legally own a Handy 410 pistol; a single shot manufactured by H&R from 1922 to 1935?

That would be form 4. To legally transfer the ownership of a gun on the NFA registry.

If the gun you want to own is not on the registry, run, don't walk, away from it.

Nice. Who was the examiner? Anymore this seems to play a huge role in the timeframes.

Jones. I believe she's new and kickin ass. I included a current copy of TXDL, CHL and recently approved F1. Dunno if they helped. I had them handy and didn't think they would hurt.

BATFE processing wait times

Got my Form 4 MG X-fer back in 44 days, I sent them the ppr work on 10/28/09 and got the approved form back on 12/11/09, examiner was Andrew Ashter. I also sent in a Form 1 for a 9mm AR15-SBR build in the same envelope which was sent out on 10/28/09...I'm still waiting on that, and I also sent in another Form 1 on 12/09/09 for a SIG 551 SBR build. Lets see how long it takes for these to come back. SBRs usually take 4-6 months in my experience.

Attachment of Extra Paperwork & Processing time

I spoke to my examiner about submitting other approved Form 1s or Form 4s CHL, DL, Hunting Permit or even a 03 (Curio & Relic) FFL, if it would help speed up processing time. In short they said, none of the extra paperwork matters. To quote the examiner..."Each tax stamp is its own transaction, and has to go through its own due-diligence process. Submitting extraneous paperwork won't speed things up." I used to send copies of previously approved Forms but quit doing so after being told that it doesn't matter. Actually, my latest Tx MG X-fer on a Form 4 took 44 days! I was impressed, now if they can move that fast with the SBR applications I have on Form 1s I would just about crap in my pants!

BATF wait time

I sent in the paperwork for my suppressor on 10/19/09. Forms were completed 2/8/10. Picked up the suppressor today. Little over 4 months. I am a happy camper.

So I hit a bump in the road it seems...I had a MG X-fer, that is taking a bit longer..Check Cashed 1/13/10...still waiting on that one

I'm about to start another MG X-fer...but this one will go from an out of state individual to my Class 3 to me...gosh the last time I had one of these it almost took an entire year to complete!
