Marlin 882 Safety problems

Hello all.

I have a marlin 882 .22 WMR

I haven't used it yet, it was inherited, it's a bolt action rifle, and when the safety is "on" the bolt still fires forward when the trigger is pulled.

I've taken the rifle apart now, and i cannot figure out why this is happening.. any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks,
Chris

The safety is not working at all.

You need to take a very close look at the trigger group, bolt, and safety lever. Once you find the part(s) that are faulty, get them replaced immediately.

If you don't understand how to work this out; I strongly suggest getting it to a gunsmith.

Take it to a Gunsmith.

Does anyone know of any links to any schematics for the rifle?

I'd prefer not to bring it to a gunsmith because I do not know that the cost of the repair is worth the resale value of the rifle...

Search the Marlin website. You should be able to come up with an owners' manual; including an exploded view.
