Remington 870 wingmaster LW

I bought a Rem. 870 wingmaster LW used. I understood it holds 4 in the chamber 1 in the reciever but i can only get 2 in the chamber. I'm new at this and I'll call the store i bought it from but just wanted to chat with some folks who might know something about this before i attempt to take it apart. thanks. JT

plugged for migratory birds

your gun is plugged for complying with migratory bird 3 shell restriction. to remove the plug you will need to take off the magazine end cap. there will probablly be a retainer under the cap which holds the magazine spring in place. the plug will be in the magazine tube in the spring. don't forget to re-install before dove or duck hunting.

JTgunner,
It sounds like you didn't get the Owner's Manual when you bought your 870. Click here for a .pdf download from Remington. A perusal of the Owner's Manual will answer many of your questions.
