9mm w/ Universal Clays?

I am trying to cut down the number of powders I keep on hand. I use UC for my 40SW loads and Titegroup for 9mm. I'd like to use UC for the 9mm as well if anyone can give me good reports on this combination. I'd also like some loads for light plinking with a 124gr bullet if you have them.

Thanks.

Works for me---

I'm well into my second thousand rounds of 9 mm I loaded: Remington 124 JHP, WSP primers, 4.6 gr Clays. Accurate, dependable, flawless functioning, once I guaged ALL the rounds. I had about 150 that didn't size properly (fired in Glocks,) but that had nohing to do wih the powder/load. I'm not near my chronograph notes, but this is on the order of a full power load--Within the Hodgen's recommendations.

Best,
Johnny

Suggest Alliant Power Pistol for 9x19 and 40S&W.

You can set your measure to 6.5g and load most every weight bullet in both.

Or not.

I use HP-38 for everything; 9mm, 10mm and .45acp. It is also cheaper than UC.

Load Universal to near recommended max for 115 grain FMJ or JHPs and get great accuracy in my Glocks, sigs, P7, and Sub-9 carbine. Good powder but moved to Power Pistol for more velocity and knockdown power.

I load Universal in .40 and 9mm. I have a .40 load that has the same or a little less recoil than a factory 9mm load. In 9mm I load UC powder, 124 gr fmj bullet, 4.6 grains of powder and winchester primers. Great load.

Ditto on the 4.6 and UC for 9mm - 124 grainer. Montana gold or rainiers.

115 JHP Montana Gold use 4.9 for hotter carbine and P7 loads. 2" groups at 25 yards.

I also use 4.6 grains of universal with 124 grain fmj. But I also have a 4 lb. can of unique to use up. Any recommendations on unique loads for 9mm in 115 and 124 grain fmj?, that will give me similar results to universal?

Thanks Ron

UNIVERSAL CLAYS vs UNIQUE

Suggest using same charge weights for both powders.

Really.

Universal Clays

I have tried many powder's in search of my overall favoite powder for the 9X19 and found 4.7Gr of H. Universal Clays under a 124Gr west coast bullet to be as accurate as I kind find. Recoil is not is moderate and this load burns very clean.
