I look the range brass over carefully. If it is a caliber I shoot and if it hasn't turned color or otherwise look funky to me, then I will pick it up. Happiness is .45 owners who don't reload and shoot lots of .45 ACP bullets before I get to the range. Have been known to collect a few in calibers I don't shoot just because they looked like they needed a new home.

I, too, cannot help myself. I'm addicted to picking up (handgun) range brass (at IPSC matches).

HOWEVER, I NEVER (repeat - NEVER) keep fired-from-Glock cases; they are returned to the ground.
If you need to know why just look at one...

My name is Son. I have a double bachelor's degree and I have ABSOLUTELY no hesitation about crawling under benches, tables, etc and getting brass

When it comes to reloading, and we're all at the range, social status no longer matters. We're all on the same playing field fighting for that last piece of brass
Your friends will forgive your mistakes. Your enemies will kill you for it.

Me too.

Broom in hand telling folks not to sweep their brass forward until I inspect it.

Amazing hwo many people willfully pay $13 for a box of ammo evry trip the range.

Their loss my gain.

Go to baskin robbins or your local ice cream parlor. for 75 cents or so, they will sell youthose square 5 gallon lidded containers. Great for storing clean or dirty brass!
