I would appreciate specifics on reloads for the 308 FAL. What bullet. What powder charge. etc.

Hello. I've had good luck with the following load which is well within maximum load range. It'll group about an inch from my FAL @ 100 yards for 3 shots and then goes to about 1.5".

IMI cases
45.0 gr Winchester 748
Sierra 150 gr Matchking HP
Remington 9 1/2M primer
LOA ~ 2.76"

Velocity is around 2630 ft/sec.

I shot a bunch of 150gr reloads through my FAL last weekend, very similar to Stephen's load:

Winchester brass,
CCI "200" large rifle primers,
Hornady 150gr Interlock, spire point,
45.0 gr Win748
Bullets seated to cannelure

Average velocity (chrono'd) was about 2680 fps, from a 20" barrel. I consider these loads a bit light - but good for plinking - since "factory" and surplus 150gr ammo clocks in around 2712 - 2750 fps, and this is still a few grains under MAX, as listed in current Hornady and Speer books.
