Ruger .45 Black Powder nipples?

I'm not sure what number caps I should use on a black powder .45 Ruger. Can you help?

You should still be good with #11 primers on these. ...

#10 should be the correct size.

One size, does not fit all !!!

If you don't have a manual, strongly suggest that you contact Ruger to obtain one. According to the manual , it states that you can use either #10 or #11 or it's equivalent, whatever that means ??? It does warn that the cap should not fit so tight, as to have to force it on. So, I guess you would have to make that determination on yours. I use #11 on mine and per the set of replacement factory nipples, #11 is better.

Perhaps correct for your application but not true for others or most.

I seem to remember there were some off brand, I think they were European manufacture caps, that were not the same size as the comparable Remington # caps.

My friend had to buy different number caps for his Ruger Old Army .44 depending on the manufacturer. This was back in the late '70's though so maybe this is not an issue any more.
