Cmh for Benghazi

I have been reviewing the actions taken by the defenders at Benghazi. The two Navy Seals who, by most reports lead the defense against overwhelming odds with inadequate weapons and personnel deserve the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Now before you start in on eligibility, a large number of "former" spec ops personnel are "Loaned" to various organizations. When the contract is completed they are returned to their various branches of service, their records are amended and no break in service appears. If this is the case, then they are eligible our nations highest award for valor.

Should it be proven that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty are not eligible for the CMH, then they should receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom or a Congressional Gold Medal. Congress can award the Gold Medal and there is a real possible of recognizing these brave men with what is considered the Nations 2nd highest civilian award. For a discussion on the Gold Medal see the following link.

I ask you to write your Congressman and Senators and urge them to recognize Woods and Doherty for their service by co sponsoring, voting for and awarding the Gold Medal.

What firearms did they use in the defense? It does seem they were badly out numbered and outgunned.

While the actions of those fine men were the epitome of American heroism, greatness and sacrifice, this is not a firearms topic and will certainly spiral (further) into politics. As such...

Still happily answering to the call-sign Peetza.
The problem, as you so eloquently put it, is choice.
