anyone else loading cast boolits in .22 caliber?
Im starting to load for 22 hornet, 223 and 222 using 224415 lyman single cavity mold. using wheel weights enhanced with 50/50 plumbers solder and adding some pure antimony for hardness

Careful with the 50/50 plumbers solder ,much over 4% tin is a waste as it won`t harden the alloy any further ,but the lino will.

I cast for my 243s & find the smaller fast twisted bores a bit challenging.

Good luck & be patient. Go `bout it methodically.

thanks GP. hornet seems to digest them well, but I was wondering about my 1/9 .223 26 inch barrel shooting them. 222 is 1/14 i think shorter barrel and wont shoot higher velocity too well

For everything except hunting, I use straight WW. Cheaper and easier.

Everyone seems to love the hornet with cast bullets. I cant find one.

I have played with 223 and 223 WSSM. Aint got the WSSM fine tuned yet, about 1.5" or so at 50yds. Thats a tuff cal to cast for.

Going to start on 220 swift and 222 hopefully soon.
