I am hoping to enter a sniper competition that is open to civilians in August. The "equipment needed" list includes 5 blanks for use during the stalk portion of the competition. My question is, how do you load a blank? I assume it means a cartridge with just a primer in it. That would make a fairly loud noise I think. At any rate, I'd like to see if there is anything special I need to do to make a blank. Like color it differently, et. Thanks,

Please take care with "blanks".. they can foul gas systems and barrels very badly and also have a much longer safety distance than most people realise. [Also they can start bush-fires!]

Take my advice and only use commercial ones and check your barrel/clean before accurate firing starts!

7.62 NATO [French manufacture] were simply hell to clean... but 5 rounds are not so bad.

Bad boys, bad boys...watcha goin' to do - watcha goin' to do when they come for YOU ?!

Navy Arms sells triple blanks in pistol calibers, what is a
triple load blank?I used to buy 30/06 blanks cheap, but can't
find them anymore,I used to make my own blanks with a load of IMR 4350 for a 150 gr. bullet, but replaced bullet with
a piece of rolled papper, and crimped it as much without
ruining case, pretty loud bang, but left alot of powder in barrel and that paper had ALOT of fps, don't use pistol powders, just some of MY experience with blanks,DON'T copy
my recipe, usually I shot just one to scare neighbors dog
away, then pushed alot of powder out when I cleaned the rifle.I wish I knew a source for rifle blanks.
