Just give me a 1911 with Ultra Slim grips and 30 lpi checkering on the front strap and MSH...

Yup, 30 LPI front and rear. (25 LPI is pretty good also) And a new pair of sharp checkered wood grips. I used to shoot a lot of matches in hot humid summer conditions and hated the feeling of a gun squirming in my hands. One summer's use would dull the wood checkering on the grips. Next summer I would buy a new pair.

I have to admit, I am not a fan of the TRP. The grip in the front seems way more aggressive than my hands want, and I even use grip tape on occasion. I might just be a wuss .
It is aggressive but after shooting it, I really became a fan. Plus, it can double as a file if you ever need one.

With regard to 1911s and ultra-slims, I read a couple Hilton Yam articles about 1911 reliability factors last night. He cautioned against slim grips, as he said many designs do not support the plunger tube.

I'm a big fan of skateboard tape, apply where you like and it's easy to remove. I also really like Glocks RTF grip frame.
