Sig P229S question

I got a Sig P229S, and it has 2 barrels, but both are 357 Sig.

It's a sweet cartridge, except that I handload and it throws brass all over the landscape. Ammo essentially costs the same.

The question is, should I swap the extra barrel for a 40 Smith or even sell it, since I can't see shooting the barrel out ever?

I would sell it and get a Bar-Sto 9mm conversion barrel.

I would call Sig that seems weird you got 2 357sig barrels. most kits that come with 2 barrels are like 357 sig and 40 s&w

Why not swap out the factory spring for a heavier spring when at the range? You can probably find one that will allow the brass will land at your feet. If you use the weapon for self defense, then carry it with the factory weight spring.
