Now that the shooter, George Zimmerman, has been charged with second-degree murder, his defense under Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law will become the focus of discussion. This law is grounded in a factual error and a deeply flawed principle. The factual error is that a proliferation of handguns makes us safer. The flawed principle is that somehow the right to bear arms needs to be enlarged to a right to resolve disputes with guns.
Wrong on both counts.
  1. More handguns DOES make us safer. The statistics prove that beyond doubt.
  2. Nothing about the Martin case in any way suggests that Florida's law created a "right to resolve disputes with guns."

I'm surprised you're surprised by CNN's views. I gave them up about three weeks after they came on the air.

LOL, no they don't. At the same time, they don't prove that more guns means we are less safe either.

Pro=gun folks seem equally willing to project correlations as causeations just as much as the anti-gun folks.

I know, crime is always less in places that have concealed carry, or is it?
