What are your thoughts on the new FNX-9? Anyone own one yet? Ammunition preferences? I've just watched some YouTube videos on it and I really like what I see. Please vote in the included poll.

Im thinking about getting one for a home defense pistol. Plenty of rounds and a LOT of features for a decent price. a little to big for me to consider a cary gun though. I will never cary anything larger than a CW series Kahr.

i own a glock 19 and a fnp 9 usg . the glock 19 is slightly smaller.
my preference are firearms with a light and short trigger pull. i did not like the stock glock 19 trigger pull , too long and heavy. i modded the glock until i got a very light trigger pull and now i love it [ my fireartms are always holstered and i only put my finger on the trigger when im going to fire].
the fnp 9 has a long but not too heavy first trigger shot {DA} and a nice short and light trigger pull after that. i carry the fnp 9 in a holster cocked so every shot is short and light.

out of your choices i would pick the fnp /fxp 9 .

for a home defense pistol i would recommend a beretta 92fs [ not on your list but worth mentioning it ]

I like my FNX-9 a lot. You did not state your intended purpose for the gun. For carrying, it's very light weight, holds 17 and comes with three mags. The recoil is not what you would expect from such a light pistol. Here's mine:

For me I prefer the FNP-9 over the FNX, but that is just my taste, I have a FNP-9 in the two tone, blue slide with the earth frame. I like the features of FNP-9 over my Glock 22; not that the Glock is a bad gun, it is a great shooter. I like both weapons, but if I had to give any plus it would be for the Glock. I have found that I can go into the local gun store/gun range and they have holsters and nights sights for the Glock. I have been to 3 places to get night sights for the FNP-9 and no one had them in stock. All could install them once I ordered and had the night sights, but the stores did not stock the nights sights for that particular weapon.

As far as voting, I voted for multiple ones, since I have most everything on the list and will carry all of them from time to time.

My opinion

My opinion of this gun is that it would actually make a great carry piece.
Here's why: 1. 9mm semiautomatic
2. 17 round magazine capacity
3. 3 spare magazines included
4. DA/SA Operation
5. Picatinny Rail

Would I give up my Glocks to own one? No, I absolutely would not. But, that doesn't mean I won't buy myself one someday.

I carry a p229 and an fnx9, I love the weight of the fnx9 but something is just comforting about having my sig.

I would recommend either, but if you don't mind a smaller capacity a p239 is a great gun.
