They're Back... HR 45

Introduced by Bobby Rush (D-IL).

Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 (Introduced in House)
Read more here, I'm not gonna post the whole thing.

If it is a handgun at all, or it has a detachable magazine (even your bolt action), it's gotta go through an FFL to be transferred even in secondhand transactions. Not only that, you have to have a goobermint permit to own it in the first place.

And to top it all off, it creates a registration database.

Enough with the Doomsday Crapola.

Title: To provide for the implementation of a system of licensing for purchasers of certain firearms and for a record of sale system for those firearms, and for other purposes.
Sponsor: Rep Rush, Bobby L. [IL-1] (introduced 1/6/2009)_ _ _ _Cosponsors (None)
Latest Major Action: 1/6/2009 Referred to House committee. Status: Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.

Be awrare, but don't worry about it until/unless it starts getting some traction (more sponsors).
