Oregon Trail Laser Cast Advertises , Superior Performance at Jacketed Bullet Speeds. Loading .452 , 200g. RNF FP, How fast can you go at T/C, Ruger only Fast load speeds? Shooting an Old Vaquero Ruger 45 L.C. Have not found reloading data for this bullet weight. Just want the Max, Load to stay under to be safe.

I've had mixed results with OT bullets mostly mixed, the bullets are hard and they have a major beveled base which does not allow the bullet to obutrate :barf: You may get lucky with them, if not you'll have Some cleaning to do

Have you called Oregon Trails yet? They should be able to answer all your questions...Theyve helped me in the past.

Oregon trails manual (page 107) lists the following for the 200 rn:

All are maxes:

Unique 7.8
Bullseye 6.2
231 7.9
700x 6.8
red dot 7.2
titegroup 7.4
clays 5.9
hp-38 7.2

While I checked these over I would not trust anything you could not independently verify with a good manual.

Unlike the other posters I have had excellent results with lasercasts with everything from "mousefart" loads for the 38 special and the 44-40 to full power pre-SAAMI wimping of the 357 magnum and 10mm. I have even driven them up into the 357 Maximum power levels with no leading to speak of.

The key is they are hard and need to be treated as such. Thus you need to match your barrel and cylinder size more carefully then most or drive them hard.

OT I'm told is very good quality, BUT they sure seem overpriced compared to other quality vendors. Example, OT 9mm 124 gr $95.50 for 1000 includes
S&H, MCB 9mm 125 gr $42.85 for 1000 plus S&H ($13 approx). Other good vendors in MCB price range as well.
All I'm saying there is quite a spread in price.

If you want to shoot lead and have no leading, try bear Creek out of Calif. I've shot 1000's of these moly coated bullets thru various guns and have not had a leading problem in years. I've shot 357 mag 125 grain flat nose traveling over 1100 fps (six gun spec) out of a Marlin 94 with a Micro groove barrel, after 150 of these and 150 of my cowboy 38, 158 grain at 900 fps (also, six gun specs) I had no any leading what so ever! Where do the laser's come into play?

Also a silver bearing alloy, how much silver, what percentage?
