Mosin Bolt Body
I got an M39 and it came with a bolt body that has a big chip on the rear end. Can this be fixed by MIG welding a piece of metal? I know it's easier to just get a new bolt body but I would want to keep the parts that came with it if possible. Also, anybody experienced this happening to them? Can it be from just shooting or excessive dry-firing? The bolt is marked with pre-1928 Ishevzk bow and arrow.

I would just buy a new one, and keep the old one in a box somewhere. I am no smith so I couldn't tell you about welding it, I have never even welded... so far. I have put close to 800 rounds through one already and have had no problems. Mine is Ishevzk 42' and 43'.
