Thoughts on VERY soft .38 LSWCHP?

I just bought some custom made .38 LSWCHP and noticed the bullets in these are VERY soft--almost to the point of being able to deform with my fingertips! I didnt want to damage them but I bet if I wanted to I could crumple up the hollow tips using my bare hands.

They are 158gr and suppsedly will go 1,000 fps. Is something THIS soft really good? Im thinking at some point it works against you?
