204 Ruger 45 gr hornady load

Hi. Im new to this forum. Ive been reading and hiding in the shadows for a long time. I need reloading data for the 45 grain hornady sp bullets for the .204 Ruger.

I definately mean a 45 gr. sp bullet. I bought some yesterday. They are on Hornady.com. The 204 is so new that there is not a lot of data yet. I cant wait to try these bullets. It is supposed to be a great yote killer.

on the 45 gr. Hornady bullet. It is a soft-point, unlike the ballistic-tip V-Max available in 32 and 40 gr. I've seen it on Midway's site, but I can't find any loading data for it. I'd like to try some.
You might try contacting Hornady. They may be able to point you in the right direction. Otherwise, the best you can do for now is use the 50 gr. data as a starting point, from the link Scott suggested.
As far as I can tell, the only manufacturer other than Hornady making a .204 bullet 45 grains or larger is Berger, with their 50 gr. match bullet. My guess is that you are going to need a pretty fast twist rate to stabilize that bullet.
Hopefully, given a little time, more data will become available for this great caliber.

I found and put together some data. I tried 4 different loads with varget. 26.5 grains of varget produced a .55" 5 shot group @100 yards. I think this bullet is going to be a winner. This is the hottest load that I developed and did not expect this one to be the one that would work. I now am going to try some imr 4895 and 4198. This gun seems to like just about everything I've tried. 12 of 13 loads developed have gone sub moa.
