We'd like to thank Johnny Guest for agreeing to take the reins of the Handloading and Reloading Forum. You may know him under his former identity, Rocky Road.

Johnny's been shooting since before grade school and reloading since the 60's. Orange Gunsite graduate, Founding President of his local IPSC club and IPSC National Match competitor, Johnny brings a great deal of practical experience to the mix.

Rumor has it that he was a Texas Peace Officer for 33 years and is currently a full time Sheriff's Investigator. Johnny describes himself as "Possibly the most liberal southwestern redneck cop in captivity", as proven by a letter of appreciation from the Dallas Chapter of ACLU and a fond recollection of previous threats from the KKK.

Quotable quotes from Johnny Guest/Rocky Road:

quote:
The Bill of Rights is the most noble document in any language.

I take my freedoms seriously, and therefore must acknowledge those of others. I take pride in being a surly curmudgeon, but I try not to take myself too seriously.[/quote]

On behalf of the entire Staff and Membership of TFL, I'd like to thank Mr. Guest for jumping into help.

Rich--Thanks for the kind introduction.

I'll appreciate your bearing with me while I get my feet on the gound in my
new persona as moderator.

Wow! Talk about saved by the bell--or rather beep. I was racking my brain for something profound to write, and my pager just sounded off. Staff meeting. I'll be back later with something suitably inspiring. Some of you may recall: Rocky Road didn't post particularly often, but he was always long winded.

Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome from a relative newbie. I like the quotes and also think of myself as an apprentice curmudgeon.

Welcome, Johnny. Sounds like you have a lot of experience to pass on to some of us "greenies." How long will it be before you get sick of dumb questions?

Yup, welcome!

Reading "Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal," by Ayn Rand, should be required of every politician and in every high school.

"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined."
--Patrick Henry, during Virginia's Convention to Ratify the Constitution (1788)

Welcome to the fold, Johnny. I've been reading some of your stuff in Reloading, and I'm glad you're here. We'll all be better for it.
