80 grain SMK in .223

I am having a .223 Remington built to shoot the 80 grain SMK. It is a Rem 700 bolt action w/ a 26" barrel. Does anyone have any pet loads for the 80 gr SMK? Any load data for this bullet would be appreciated!

Hanged if I know, I have completely jumped over the 80 grain and yesterday ordered a 6.5" twist barrel for the 90 grain MK. The guy who got me hooked on this stuff loads the 80 grain with a rather top load of Varget.

Sierra is very good about answering questions for anyone, even if it's not about their bullets. You might give them a call or email.

Using a bench rest primer Fed/CCI/Rem and 24.4 grs of R-15 might work pretty well. As always, reduce 10% and work up. This load is a tack driver in my 6 1/2-1 AR "service rifle" which is shot at 600 yards with iron sights.

Reloader 15 burns cleaner than Varget ever thought of. Not that I'm into "clean" burning powders. Another powder to try would be IMR 4895.
God Bless our Troops especially our Snipers.
