Tell me about affordable pistols...
I'm making a web page to encourage people who can not afford to spend over $200 out the door on a pistol. Can you give me a useful link, or some information about this? Thanks, and here's the web page in its present condition:

Bersa costs too much
Hi Ala Dan,
I have researched the Bersa, and checked out prices in local gun shops in my area. I've never seen one in the under $200 price range. And the Bersa Forum is a good one, I haunt it from time to time. Go Vols! |

Here are a few sources.
Most, if not all of these, require the assistance of an FFL dealer (Some may be C&R eligible, though.) Much depends on the charges made by the FFL for handling the paperwork involved in ordering and receiving the handgun.
SOG - - Star BM 9x19 mm w/spare mag $139.95 Helwan 9x19 w/spare mag $159.95 CZ52 7.62x25 Pistol w/spare mag and holster 99.95 Bulgarian military Makarov 9x18 mm w/spare mag 129.95 Polish Makarov 64 9X18 mm 139.95 Zastava Md. 70 Pistol (I believe these are in .32 ACP) $109.00 http://www.southernohiogun.com/surplushandguns.html AIM - - Pol-64 Polish P-64 9x18 Pistol $139.95 CZ52 7.62x25 Pistol w/spare mag and holster 89.95 http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Handguns.html J&G Sales Their used guns list shows several quality handguns for under $200, including some of the classic S&W Military & Police .38 revolvers http://www.jgsales.com/jgusedhgn.html Best regards, Johnny |

Gotta' agree with the Bersa Thunder 380. Maybe some of the derringers out there?
American Derringer Or maybe the Mini-Revolvers from American Arms? American Arms Although I don't own any, I gotta' believe Taurus has some respectible hand guns in that price range... |

In reply to your message about Bersa's costing too much. Weapon prices vary all around the country. Here on the east coast (mid atlantic) prices , from my investgations, Are a little lower than most other parts. Bersa Thunder .380's go for around $ 185. For pistols under $200, This for sure makes my top 5.

I agree with the previous posts. You can get a Bersa Thunder all day long at Gander Mountain for $199.00. They are definately worth it.

Good Bersa prices...
I'm glad to "hear" that Bersa 380's can be bought for under $200. I've only seen them in one shop in my area, and the dealer is asking for about $350 for the 2 tone, which seems to be all he has (and he has several of those). Like to get one of the new ccw Bersas when they come out. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!
